How to Pull Reports in PowerSchool for Data Collection
If the system your school uses is PowerSchool and you are looking for instructions on how to pull these reports to collect your data, then this is the post for you! In order to run these reports you need to have administration access, which counselors should have in order to create the schedules.
To Pull a Behavior Report:
On your PowerSchool home page, go All Reports
Click System tab
Discipline Section
Select Discipline Log.
Enter the date range, student selection, then Submit.
Selections can be made by grade level, gender or any other selection group established.
Once the report is created, select the Excel option at the top of the spreadsheet (CSV).
Save the report in an easily accessible place, where it can easily be retrieved.
Open it, then save it as an excel binary workbook.
One you have it in the appropriate excel spreadsheet format, you may sort the information.
To Pull an Achievement Report:
On the PowerSchool homepage, select the grade level that you would like data for
Click All Reports
Select Custom Reports tab
Then Click Grades and Grading Section
Select Current Grades by Percent Report
Enter the term (N1: 1st Nine Weeks, Y1: Full Year, S1 or S2 for semester.
Put in appropriate numbers and submit.
Once report is created, copy and paste the student information into a blank Excel sheet.
To Pull an Attendance Report:
On the PowerSchool homepage, click All Reports
Select Custom Reports
Click Student Attendance Range Report
Enter dates for Attendance Range
All students > 0 -100.
Save as excel binary and save it. This will allow you to sort the data.
To Pull a Demographic Report:
On the PowerSchool homepage, select All Reports.
Click Custom Your School's Name Reports
Select All School Reports
Click, Misc. then select testing demographics reports.
Select a student group, either grade level or the student population that you have already established as your current selection then click submit.
Scroll over to the right and export the information into an excel spreadsheet.
Once report is generated, select the Excel option at the top of the spreadsheet generated (CSV). Save the report in an easily accessible place, where it can easily be retrieved.
Open it, then save it as an excel binary workbook. Once you have it in the appropriate Excel spreadsheet format, you may sort the information.
